I've enjoyed lurking on this site long enough and I hope that I am welcome to join. I am an RN who has worked in dialysis (PD/Chronichemo/acute hemo) for 22 years. I really enjoy this forum, what a great idea that was long overdue! One reason that I enjoy it is that by viewing what pt's concerns are makes me a better nurse. I joined because from time to time I see someone with a question that has a really obvious answer and I'd like to help them. Please don't take any comment that I give as gospel, I am not a nephrologist, just trying to help.I hope that I am welcome despite coming from " the other side". I have alot of the same complaints that the chronic HD pts here have about staff and units. Currently I work in acute setting (hospital). Feel free to let me know if I become too much of a pain in the backside because this forum is precious and I don't want to hamper it. Thanks!

Hi Ginger Cookie - I think we can have those!  I'm waiting for surgery and am starving right now!

Yes, by all means, please chime in.  I'm sure we can learn from each other.  Please don't take offense when we get down on the professionals from time to time, but that is what this site is for.  We have this place to go and let it all out.

Please let other patients know about this site.  Thanks~

Welcome,

Thank you for the kind words, yeah I too think this site was long over due. I like your attitude about learning from us to make you a better nurse. Welcome to the board and please help out by answering questions if you can.

Welcome to the board!  We do want people like you to help us, and as you said, this site can also help you.  You will be much more aware of the real concerns of renal patients.  I was about to ask you not to take offense when we rant over the professionals, but you obviously don't since you have joined us.  Have a look at some of the questions that we raise and add your own perspective.
Glad to have you!
