I think its something that I will never understand, but she takes it in stride.  Please say to her ... Oh what a gift, so many people wouldn't do that, and she just says what am I supposed to do , keep both and watch Kim be sick.  She is just so matter of fact.  I know one thing I sure do love her :)

Update:

Well lots have happened since I posted this and here is a shot to bring you up to present...

My sister Michelle is now out of the running to donate me her kidney,  she had a few bouts of high blood pressure and has levels of proteen in her urine.

This was harder for her to handle then me I think, she had the quilts and all that , and I was just glad that they found a problem before they removed her kidney.  My other sister Jody  (she lives in Ontario) is now getting tested and a dear friend of mine , that I haven't seen in a very long time is also getting tested.

My friend and I are getting cross matched tomorrow so keep your fingers crossed.

This is a long winding road that we find ourselves on isn't it.

I am sorry to hear about your sister - and I understand that she is sad about not being able to come through for you. I know I felt that way when I didn't match for Jenna. But just the fact that she offered and followed through with the testing is a real gift of love! I am glad you have other people willing to be tested. Hope things work out!

It is a long journey we are on, but as we walk through it we get to see such things as strength, glory, love, tenderness in ourselves and others.  Still yet we also see stubborness, aloftness, hypocracy and coldness in some we thought we knew.  It brings out true colors, true friends and family.  I have been blessed more by almost strangers I now can call friends who have offered and even been tested for possible matches for my donation - and turned down by my only blood relative besides my mom that is the closest thing to a match.  I should have known when she never said anything, nor came right out to offer.  I had to bring it up to her, just to have my sister turn me down.  In anycase, be blessed your sister tried.  And be encouraged by others wanting to also - you never know who or where!

When we started this journey with my mother, I wanted it to be me so bad.  When all the numbers came in, my youngest sister was the best match and I felt so guilty that my sister had to juggle work and all the upcoming appointments.  All in all, we want to take care of our mom by any means necessary.  It sounds like your family is doing the same.  I hope one of your other potential donors is an excellent match for you.  Good luck!!

Yet Another Update...

My friend and My crossmatch was great, we are the same blood type... she is doing her big urine test this weekend, and all chest x-rays, EKG's are in!  The only test she still has to do is an ultra sound (this usually takes a month or so to book)

All things considering , I am feeling very good about this, my friend (Kim) is so excited about getting closer to being the person that donates. What a good day this is...

We are just waiting for the ultrasound app. now, they have it booked for January 14th... and then a kidney scan, I don't think that that app. is set yet, I have the vibe that if all goes well I should have an operation date in the spring.

I try so hard not to get my hopes up, but man o man I am excited
