Does anyone else notice that when they do not include a protein in a meal or have protein regularly, their mood drops?  I noticed last night after a moody run at dialysis dinner really picked me up and got me going again. I at elunch at 10:30 in the monring and had snacks at dialysis last nightbetween 3 and 5. The snacks were mostly carb based. I think I am going to long without a protein during the day.

I'm not on dialysis yet, but I've been doing a really low protein diet to try to save my kidneys. I haven't noticed a difference in mood, but I have noticed that I no longer have any desire for meat which is weird. I've always loved meat!

Yeah, I"ve noticed that, Kit. I have to have 8 servings a day, which I don't get by the way. You tend to get sick of it VERY quickly. I do try to have two eggs for breakast, something at lunch time, and something at dinner. DOesn't always work, but as you noticed, protein does affect my mood.
