Karen welcome to IHD.  You can go to your meeting but don't believe what they say!   :D  You need to come here for your answers and the truth.  These people talking are probably NOT on dialysis.  You will get the truth here.  You also get fast answers.  I just went through a bad time with a fistula clotting off this week and this site was more help than any doctor.

Best of luck and I'm looking forward to your posts.

Hi Karen

Welcome to Ihatedialysis.com.

Hope your meeting goes well, hopefully you can come back with a clear understanding of your dialysis choices and procedures.

What you don't learn on Tuesday you can learn here. feel free to browse, read and post. Ask as many questions as you need. Better to make informed decisions.

:welcomesign;  Glad you found us.  I got a lot of information from my centers, but real life, practical true info is what I have found here. These people live it, not just study it.  Plus everyone here is friendly and helpful.  This is a great site.

I am glad you are here and want to find out all you can about dialysis before you start.  It can be a grueling road, but with education and knowledge it can become easier.  Welcome!

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.

Welcome to our caring and sharing community.  I am glad you found us, and that you found us at the right time - just before you go on dialysis.  There is so much information here, especially from people who have actually been through the experience.  So read as much as you can.  You also need to post and let us know what is going on with you. Ask questions. You see, this site has become a real family to many dealing with this renal challenge.  Your husband is also welcome to join, as we even have a section for caregivers and loved ones.
Looking forward to getting to know you better, and to hearing from you.
