I have been on dialysis for a little over 3yrs.  I started in December on 2002.  I used to read the
Dialysis Message Board by Brumley,  but they seem to "have gone out of business".

I live in the middle Georgia area, my dialysis facility is privately owned by the nephrologist,
BUT, it is run by DaVita.

I am currently 47yrs old. I was born with 1 functioning kidney, one kidney did not fully develop.
I assume it never worked at all.  I have ALWAYS had high blood pressure, and the one "good"
kidney finally got overworked.  I still make quite alot of urine.

I dialyize 3days per week at 5.25hrs per treatment.  I am a very large person.
I am 5'8" and my dry weight is 171kilo's.

I am very glad to find this board.  It helps to know that there are some folks going through the same
stuff as myself.

I wish some of these bio-tech companies would get off their a** and perfect an alternate treatment to
dialysis.  BMP-7 comes to mind, but "Ortho-Biotech" is just sitting on the technology.

Anyway, that is my introduction.  I will post more as time goes by.

Roybear,

Welcome to the site.  5.25 hours?  That must drive you insane!  Sounds like you have a lot of experience and a lot to share.  Please come here to post and vent your frustrations.

Welcome roybear, I'm glad you found us and I'm sure you will be glad you did. Yeah "Brumley" went down but I never did like how their site was set up. It was to hard to read messages, they are ONE of the reasons I started this site. Again Welcome.
