Hi! I am Carol.  I am new to dialysis.  I had a transplant on 11/05 (cadaveric) and it started rejecting in January.  I am now on Hemo 3x a week.  Hopefully my sister/bro will still be a match so I can try transplant again.

I am a teacher so I am anxious as how this (diaylsis) will fit into our lives.   I have 2 children and at the moment my husband works in a different part of the state than where we live.

Hello Carol, and Welcome!  Its got to be hard dealing with rejection, and I'm sorry that happened.  Remember, you can LIVE with dialysis.  Hopefully, your sibs can match you.  In the meantime, take great care of yourself!  This is a great forum filled with info, wisdom, and humor.  Good luck to you,  hugs, kelli  :)

Wish you a quick match in finding the donor.  What do you teach by the way and is dialysis making it harder to handle the pressure of teaching?  Lastly, what is the reason for the kidney rejection in the first place?

I am one of the teachers here on the board. I still work full time in the classroom.  Welcome to our site.   My words of wisdom: Take care of you as much as you can.  Rest and get good sleep.  Eat well. Ask questions of us and of your doctor and team.

Welcome to our community, from another member of the teaching fraternity, or should I say sorority? ;D  This is a great place for you to be. There is so much on this site.  You can even add to our ongoing soap opera - Sam's Story.  There is  much to take advantage of.  Keep reading and reading and keep posting and posting.  We are family and we need to know how you are doing.  As I said in another post - not nosy, just caring.
