Lila & Smudgie

« on: September 03, 2007, 03:49:34 PM »

As some of you know, 2007 had a very rough start for my hubby and myself. He spent too much time in the hospital with much doom and gloom from the medical side. Things have improved and now we are preparing for our only child's wedding. (I really must stop calling her a child!)

The wedding has been planned for close to a year now but we all kept saying, yep, more time, we're okay. All of a sudden it has hit us that we are only a month away now! Everything is starting to happen so fast, it's really amazing. The Jack & Jill was held Saturday night, the families come together so well, everybody is so wonderful. We don't call him our to be son-in-law but our son. This match couldn't be better if we had set it up ourselves. His family has been with us through everything my hubby has gone through because they had a family member go through similar things. So they are there for us whenever something happens. (What a bonus!!)

A very good friend of mine had volunteered to do my daughter's hair for the wedding and we went over there today to have her experimented on. I was stunned how beautiful it looked up and more stunned when the veil and tiara were on her. I had tears in my eyes, and for the life of me I have no idea where the last 23 years of my life have gone!! My little girl is all set to be a married woman! I was entertaining my friend and the maid of honor with some stories of when my daughter was little, taking the sled down the staircase, which by the way added at least 50 gray hairs to my head. She's always been adventurous and still is to this day. But somewhere in there, she grew up and became an adult.

Enough sappiness....it's a very happy time but I have a feeling that the next few weeks are going to just *poof* before I know it but I am getting lots and lots of photos of the comings and goings up to the wedding. I'm really considering making a collage of the pictures from Saturday night and putting it up at the wedding.....

This is just too exciting, it's such a wonderful feeling and we really can't wait for the day (Oct 13th). I had asked them if we could train their cats to walk on harnesses and they could be the ring bearers, my daughter thought it was great  but my hubby and the fiance just don't like that idea. Oh well....

Thank you, I've always used a 35 mm camera, but I have decided the time has come to move up to digital and have been experimenting with our digital camera. At least if I don't like the picture I can lose it but won't have to wonder about the film or anything!! But I will certainly post some photos.

It is so good to hear of good things about to happen.
I'm so glad your husband is doing better.
I know the day will be so special for all of you.
I remember when my oldest son married his bride, it was one of
the happiest days of my life, to see him so happy.
Enjoy and savor this good time.
God bless you all.
