American Association Of Kidney Patients Introduces Nutrition Magazine

13 Jul 2007

The American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) is pleased to announce the development of its new nutrition and lifestyle magazine, aakpDelicious! aakpDelicious!, an AAKP membership benefit, focuses on the important issues related to proper nutrition for kidney patients of all stages, including diet, exercise and mineral intake. aakpDelicious! will be unveiled at the Association's 34th Annual Convention in St. Louis, MO, taking place Aug. 30 - Sept. 2.

An estimated 20 million people have kidney disease and the majority of those individuals have very different, very specific dietary needs. aakpDelicious! provides practical information for chronic kidney disease (CKD), dialysis and transplant patients to better achieve proper health.

"aakpDelicious! will be the only nationwide magazine devoted to nutrition and healthy living for kidney patients," states AAKP Executive Director/CEO Kris Robinson. "A kidney friendly diet may be difficult and confusing to follow. aakpDelicious! gives patients diet information and tips in the hopes of simplifying renal nutrition."

aakpDelicious! is published twice yearly and distributed to all current AAKP members. For more information about aakpDelicious!, please contact AAKP at (800) 749-AAKP or visit the AAKP Web site, http://www.aakp.org.

AAKP is the voluntary, patient organization, which for more than 35 years, has been dedicated to improving the lives of fellow kidney patients and their families by helping them deal with the physical, emotional and social impact of kidney disease. The programs offered by AAKP inform and inspire patients and their families to better understand their condition, adjust more readily to their circumstances, and assume more normal, productive lives in their communities.
