We all have gripes and bad things to deal with. List the "Gripe List". Then list your "Gratitude List".

The Gripes
I am on dialysis.
I am tired all the time.
I am stressed to the max.

Gratitude List
I have a job.
I have a wonderful husband.
I have two kids who love me and I love.
I have IHD.com friends.

Gripes:
I am on dialysis
I am on dialysis
I am on dialysis
Everything that goes along with health issues

The Gratitude:
For the true friends I have
For the life I have had (a lot of singing and dancing)
For still having the ability to feel loved and to give it
For having the ability to work and play
Modern science
For the fact that there are more good people in this world than bad
For my mom not ever giving up when raising me and my brother
For the support of my grandparents throughout my life
For an education
For all of my life experiences, even some of the bad ones
For having the strength to pull myself out of depression
Last but not least, for IHD, and all the help of it's members

Gripes

My husband has kidney disease
My husband has to deal with being on disability because of something else
My pain in behind mother (I love her anyway)
The "me me me me me me me" attitude among most young people today and even among some older people (middle aged and old)
Some smart mouth past students I had
Inconsiderate and rude people
My parents and brother live too far away (need airlines)
My parents and brother all have health problems
My husband's father has medical issues

Gratitudes

A very loving husband
A very happy marriage
A nice place to live
My parents are still alive
My brother is almost done with his Master's degree program
My father helped me a lot with my math last semester when he had his own burdens
I have a very understanding boss
I am in a good Master's degree program with a very good institution
We are not destitute
The few friends we have locally are very good people
We have very good neighbors
Children bring me a lot of joy
I have very good relatives who call
We have an excellent medical team who are working with us and leaving no stone unturned
I am from another culture which leaves many doors open for me like language, history, foods, fashion, entertainment, etc. and yet I can enjoy everything American (best of both worlds)
I live in one of the best cities in the world
I have a very strong belief in my faith and I stay with it and yet I am learning everyday.
I have many who care about my family and I

I found IHD and one of the NICEST PEOPLE here who have made me not only feel welcome but at home where I am not embarrassed about anything and I can be myself here and I also want to thank everyone for being more than patient with me when all of you have your own plates overloaded.

The comments on this string remind me of the old Yiddish joke:

First Person:  Life is so hideous, it would be better if we had never been born!

Second Person:  True.  And yet how many people have such luck?  Not even one in a thousand!

Lawyer:     I have some good news and some bad news.
Client:    Well, give me the bad news first.
Lawyer:    The bad news is that the DNA tests showed that it was your blood they found all over the crime scene.
Client:    Oh no!  I'm ruined!  What's the good news?
Lawyer:    The good news is your cholesterol is down to 130!
