Hello,
I hope this post goes to the intro section. If not please forgive me.Thanks for allowing me to become a member of your amazing group. My name is Candy and I recently celebrated my birthday.(42 yeah!) I've had kidney disease most of my life.I'm going in for vein mapping on the 11th.My surgeon said I'll likely have a graft. My GFR is 14 therefore, hemo is near. I try to remain upbeat some days are easier than others.I've researched CRF and dialysis.Sometimes, though I still have the fear of the unknown.Reading about kidney failure and living it are two separate things.I'm fortunate to have a good support system. My hobbies include reading and mosaic.I hope to feel well enough to take an art class soon.Again, thanks for having me aboard.

Welcome, Angel!! Read what you can here, about hemo, and access points, so you'll be better aware of what to look for and what to watch out for, these guys know what they're talking about! Ask questions, they'll be more than happy to answer!!

Welcome Angel! I am glad you found us. It sounds like with your lifelong experience of having kidney disease that you will have much to share with us. The vein mapping is a breeze and they can work wonders with small veins as I have them. I know you will find a wealth of information here and I know you will have a lot to contribute

Welcome to the site. Know you are not alone while you struggle with kidney disease and dialysis. I began dialysis at age 36, and am now 44 years old. It can be done and you can continue with a semi-normal life after beginning dialysis.
kitkatz,moderator
Let me give you a brief tour of the site.
The area that generates a lot of discussion about dialysis is the general discussion topics:
http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?board=2.0
This area of the forum is where the meat and potatoes of the dialysis world are discussed by the members.
Feel free to post anything you want to discuss or if you have a question.
There are lots of interesting discussions in the off topic area:
http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?board=5.0
.
There is even a fiction story being written by our members in this area:
http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?board=17.0
Home dialysis discussions are in this topic:
http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?board=25.0
There is also a search box at the top of the boards to help you in finding topics of interest or answers to your questions. You can refine your search, too.
I hope this short tour has helped you become better acquainted with IHateDialysis.com.
Again, welcome to the site and have fun while you are here.
