Hi, My name is Kim, I am 36yr and I have been a hemodialysis RN for 10yrs in an outpatient clinic. I am absolutely thrilled to find this website. I cannot wait to go to work tomorrow to tell all my patients about it. I just found it today so I am just checking it out. I love the T shirts. I am always interested in thoughts and ideas that patients may have so feel free to reply or contact me at any time. I love being in the dialysis field and I really have so many memories of different people. Ok, I am not going to ramble on and on but I just wanted to introduce myself. Yeaaaa for this site.
See you soon.

What a warm and inviting introduction. Thank you Kim and Welcome to I hate dialysis.com
Thank you for introducing yourself, it is the best way for us to get to know you better. Whatever your reason for joining our family here at IHD, I hope you find everything you need, but most importantly I want you to feel comfortable to ask questions and come back and post often.
Thanks again,

Welcome to IHD Kim. Why did you refer to dialysis patients as "memories"!?? Why is it when I talk to people they will say "oh, I knew someone who was on dialysis" (Past Tense). Well, hopefully in both instances they received transplants.
It is good to have another dialysis on board. There is a section for Nurses to rant also. Check it out.

This reply is for Rerun. I said "memories" because it means from the past. I do have wonderful memories from my work. Some of the patients have passed, some got transplants, and some are still on hemodialysis. A memory can be from 30 minutes ago. I have developed many close bonds with patients and staff. It is kind of like a family. Thanks to everyone who welcomed me. I look forward to many good conversations.

Welcome from a fellow nurse! I worked chronics for 5 1/2 years and have now been in a hospital inpatient/acute unit since November. Like you, I found that dialysis is my passion.
This is a wonderful site, I'm sure your patients will appreciate the recommendation. Please check out the various boards; "Dialysis Employees" is for us workers, but feel free to post on any board.
Again, good to have you.
