...And Yet I Smile
Here I am introducing myself!

Ok, so HI! I'm Christine and I live in Florida. I'll start with the borings: I've had kidney disease since I'm 14. (I'm now the under study for the crypt keeper).
I've had ESRD for 10 years and have been on dialysis for 6. Waiting for a donor. My hubby is my health care partner and we do the home-hemo dialysis. And yes, like the rest of you, I'm sick of it and I hate it, and I complain about it all the time. Ok, so, those are my kidney issues. Otherwise I'm a good listener and a good friend. Despite the fact that I have bi-polar depression, I'm pretty good at cheering OTHER people up. Ummm, if you want to know more about me, just ask. I'm open to anything. Lord knows I could use some new friends who go through the same thing as I do. So....hope to see ya 'round!

Hi Christine and Welcome to IHD!
Home Hemo, I am impressed as I am so needle-phobic I cannot imagine needling even with a Partner.
My Wife wouldn't even consider it. and I'm not so sure I would like her to try.
6 years, I have to askk about your fluid take-offs, and diet. I do OK restricting my fluids, but my diet is lacking in variety.
Not much of an appetitie so I don't eat much at a time, nor real regular. Fortunately my Labs are good. Thankfully.
I've no doubt your two can teach many of us important things as we are all still learning.
Take Care,

Hello Christine and welcome to IHD. I'm too tired at the moment to write more (dialysis is a drag and a bore and very tiresome) but i am around.

It’s like welcoming someone to the ship of the damned. However the people who deal with this on this site are helpful and are always glad to welcome you to the family. I personally have mixed feelings about Dialysys, I hate the treatments but love the life it lets me lead.

Sort of like Military Veterans, many of us share a sick sense of humor.
When we are no longer able to laugh at Death it starts getting scary.

Soo true. And Charlie, I've been lurking on this site off and on for a handful of years now, and it makes me happy to know you are still solidly in the game. Thanks for being here.
