My husband is having a lot of digestive issues(.gas, bloating, diarrhea, stomach pain). The doctor gave him flagyl, plus have been giving him yogurt (with his binder) and trying some probiotics. Digestive advantage and Florastor. Just wondering if anyone has had any input on probiotics that were helpful or what to avoid.

I can only say that a combination of pre and probiotics definitely works for me. I use Udo's Choice Micro biotic Super 8 high strength. I found out by trying just probiotics that they don't work without prebiotics (dumb I know)

Good luck, Cas

I just googled Florastor and Digestive Advantage and they are both probiotics so I would look for a prebiotic to add. Anyway they need to be taken with food.

Good luck again, Cas

I have taken Florastor along with d-mannose to discourage UTIs. I had a UTI a year ago and being a transplant patient, that's bad, and the antibiotics did a number on my system. I switched to another supplement that includes both a probiotic and d-mannose in a single pill. I thought the probiotic helped me recover from the effects of the heavy duty antibiotics I received. That was over a year ago and I still take the combo supplement. My neph was fine with it, so that's what I do. I haven't taken a prebiotic though. It's confusing.

Thanks to SooMK and Cassandra, I appreciate your replies. Thanks for the suggestion of the prebiotics, I didn't know about that.  :thumbup;
