2.5 years on PD. Got my first call today and am currently at UAB Hospital awaiting surgery at noon.  Can’t believe it’s actually happening. Super pumped (and a bit nervous)..

I wonder if they will let you look at your new kidney before putting you under?

I will be asking when my time comes.

Wow, great story Bruce.  Very happy to hear.

UPDATE:   Surgery was very successful. The new kidney started punching immediately. I’m doing well just in some pain, but the morphine is helping out.  Thank you everyone for the well wishes, may you be blessed and in good health.

Hello all, thank you for all the very kind messages. Well I got my new kidney last  Monday morning. Had to go back under the knife on Tuesday because of a blood clot which kind of wiped me out. Recovery has been a bit slow I’m finally starting to feel little bit better. They took my Foley catheter out a few days ago I had some extreme pain and difficulty urinating so they had to reinstall it, since then I’ve just been doing a lot of sleeping and trying to remain patient. Biggest problem I have right now is that I stink I haven’t taken a shower for a few days LOL. Here’s her every day getting better. Hope all of your lives continue to be blessed And if you’re waiting on the list hang in there, it can come a lot sooner than you think.
