Hi!

I'm Kevin, I'm 42, I live in Ohio. I started dialysis in April and I'm waiting for a kidney transplant.

Hi Kevin,

Welcome to IHD!

You'll find a lot of information here that your Dr and Nurse cannot, or will not tell you.  Many of us have already been there and done that and survived to help others survive as well.

Read lots, post all your questions.

Take Care,

Kevin - Welcome.      I think the list should have Clint Eastwood as an honorary sponsor, since its all about "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" as well as coughing up a "Fistfull of Dollars" while the clinic asks "For a Few Dollars More".   Plus, there is the ever present question "Are you feeling lucky today?".

The best advice I can give to a new member of the club nobody wants to join is to learn about all the modalities (PD, home hemo, in-center, etc.) and pick the one that works best for you.   Some MDs can unintentionally substitute their judgement for that of the patient and simply steer you to the third ring of hell (clinic).

Well speak for yourself, none of the rest of us are ugly! Although I do wear a Clint Eastwood like poncho during dialysis to keep warm.

Whoever said "God does not make mistakes" has obviously never seen the complete bog up he made of my kidneys!
