Recently Trump re-tweeted posts from a minor British Fascist party. Not sure how big a news this was in he US, but as it was one of our fascist parties, it was big news here in Britain (although a very minor political party). There was a question about it on a news quiz on TV, with debate on the fuss made in the media about the incident. After that the host was supposed to read from an autocue "After all that furor - Donald Trump said.......". Unfortunately she misread it as "After all that - Führer Donald Trump said...."

Remember "One step for man" rather than "one step for a man"?

IIRC Freud is credited with describing how people make the verbal slip. saying what you mean rather than what you meant to say. i.e., Freudian Slip.

Donald did that to show the harm of one radical sect of Muslims.  If it were Christians that were cutting off heads for those of unbelief it would also NEED to be said.

What the politically correct miss is that the probability a 25 year old Muslim immigrant is a terrorist is probably something like 10,000 times the probably a native born US resident of the same sex and age is a terrorist, but the use the fact that the number of native born terrorists is non-zero to falsely imply that there is no such thing as a "high risk" population.

Oh, it was all a big story here.

The worrying thing is that Trump retweeted edited jihadist propaganda.  So, Trump is doing what jihadists do.

It's also worrying that he obviously didn't know who he was retweeting nor that there is a party called "Britain First."

The Dutch government made it abundantly clear that there was no "radical Islamist" nor a "migrant" involved in this incident, and they also formally protested.  There was no "terrorism" to worry about, and that's not a "politically correct" statement.  They can't release more information since both kids involved are minors, but I bet they are dying to!

Make America Smart Again.

The reason I posted was the humour in someone re-posting a tweet from a neo-Nazi party accidentally being given the political title Hitler invented. However if you want to argue the rights and wrongs of it:

In this case the problem is not that he was re-tweeting anti-Muslim propaganda, but that:

A) The videos he re-tweeted were basically lies. If he had re-tweeted genuine videos of Muslim atrocities, there would be no problem (and there are plenty of those about) but he chose to re-tweet fiction as fact. That does not make him politically "far right", that makes him politically "an idiot".

B) The political party in question was not just far right, it was openly fascist and neo-Nazi. They are not just against Muslim terrorists, they are against anyone who is not white. Their policy is: If you are black or Asian and living in England then, even if you were born here, you should deported, or better still - killed. By re-tweeting those videos Trump was also publicizing that view.

C) The party who made the videos is also very anti American. By re-tweeting those videos Trump was also sending surfers to a feed that sometimes posts ideas to make the US fail.

D) Trump is president of the USA, he was voted in by the American people, and to most people outside America he represents the USA. Because of the things I said in point (A) he makes all Americans look stupid, and because of the points I said in (B) he makes all Americans look like fascists.

E) And point (D) is doubly disastrous in places like North Korea, China, Russia, etc.. Their governments deliberately give America a bad enough press without Trump helping them spit on the USA.

F) (This will probably not matter to Americans) The political party he re-tweeted was a minor little group of crackpots. What we do not need in Britain at the moment is the American president giving them publicity, making them look important, and making the rest of the world think we have serious fascist political parties over here.

In short, Trump makes America look bad throughout the world, and makes his own party look stupid across America. He harms everyone. His target was Muslim fundamentalists, but the collateral damage is the entire USA (and Britain).

Whoops, sorry I tried to edit the above post but must have hit "Quote" instead and ended up with this post which was just a copy of my above post as a quote, so I have deleted it. Nothing was said in this post that was not said in the above post, this post was an exact copy of that post.

Addenda When I said:

If he had re-tweeted genuine videos of Muslim atrocities, there would be no problem.

I meant: If he is trying to make a point about Muslim terrorism, it is acceptable to post genuine news videos to illustrate his point. I did not mean that it is OK to post these things just to make Muslims look bad.
