Hello I am not a dialysis patient. My father went on dialysis about 3-months ago. I have found a lot of great information on this site. My father is reacting very well to hemo. He is feeling much better then he has in 2-years. He is a diabetic and that is what caused his kidney failure.

Welcome to our community! Your dad is really fortunate to have some who loves him and finds out beneficial things for him. This is a wonderful place to find information and to get real support. We are looking forward to hearing of his progress from you. There is a lot going on at this site, not just dialysis stuff, so just jump it and ENJOY!

Welcome to IHD Danally,
There are members here that have been on dialysis for 25 years. I'm not sure if it is hemo dialysis but the idea of dialysis is to keep you alive. Without it your Dad would die.
I guess the way to loOK at it is when it's his turn then his time is up. Until then enjoy your time that you have and live each moment as if it is your last. I'm glad your Dad has adapted well to treatment.
