I'm on a 12000 total volume. My nurse FREAKED out at my suggestion of trying to use my left over manual bags (that she over ordered for me) on the cycler. (1 2000 manual in addition to the 2 5000).

I've tried it, and it seems to work fine. It's not a permanent solution, but it helps clear out those boxes. What am I missing? Why is she panicking over this?

My Nurse thought it just fine to use my manual supplies prior to the expiration date so as not to have to pour them out and waste them.

She said to be
SUREto clamp off the hose to the drain bag so no fluid diverts in there.   I just hang the drain bag along with the full bag using my IV pole like I do all bags.  Well, except for the one on the heater, of course!

I wouldn't worry about her.   Just watch the dates so you don't use expired product, you should be fine.

I did reorder just a couple cases of manual supplies so to always be prepared for power outages.   When/if they near their expiration dates I will use them and reorder a couple more.
