Line connection breaking

  so I'm about to connect my last line to my venous needle, and the line breaks off!! I mean the screwy bit when you take it off the saline bag. So I decided that 'something' was telling me not to D today. Taking the whole cartridge off with 2 needles in, and priming again sounded like asking for bad luck

I have had that happen and other catastrophes at same point .  I did just leave the needles in and flush them with saline every few minutes. In one case I waited an hour to restart with no problems.  You can just do that and reprime if you choose.    In 2.5 years I have seen it all.   I have learned to improvise.

That would certainly an option, but with one hand free, and the other arm with the needles, I really thought that I would be asking too much of my self
    . So my improvisation usually ends up in better safe than sorry
