The Dreaded "Survey"

DaVita has sent out the yearly "Tell us how we are doing" survey.

On a scale of 0 to 10 zero being the worst how do you rate your dialysis team?
Really?  They are all different.  It should be on a scale of 0 to 10 zero being the worst how do you rate Ed?  How do you rate Sue? How do you rate Julie? How do you rate Chris?  They are all different.  That question will not tell them anything.

Then there is this question.... I swear I don't know what idiots write these..
On a scale of 0 to 10 zero being the worst how likely are you to recommend DaVita to friends or family?   

Are you kidding?  This is not Jack In The Box!!  You don't recommend a dialysis center.  Where you live is what you get or at least where you start!  You recommend a Nephrologist.  I would not recommend someone who lives 35 miles away to come to my center when there is one 2 miles from them.  Try it first and see how they are. 

With Ebola causing kidney failure they may be coming to us in hoards.  I bet the CEO of DaVita is drooling.....

I'm appalled at DaVita spending money on this survey when we run out of 2X2's and needles.

Is the lack of supplies cost cutting or incompetence on the inventory side of the operation?

Re: recommending to family and friends - I do think that among the population with high diabetes risk this is a valid question.  We attended a kidney conference last weekend and the tables were filled with large groups of friends and families who knew each other. (Each patient was allowed one only guest.)

Thankfully... I'm the only family member or friend known personally to me with ESRD.  I would not recommend it to anyone.  So, therefore I found the question offensive.  It was like they were "seeking" business. 

It would be like a funeral home asking the same question.  Sick and wrong.

I'll rephrase my statement:

I can't believe DaVita is spending money on this survey when Tyler who is the tech for 10 people gets $15 an hour and is not allowed overtime.  Or the center has no backup generators when the lights go out which happens more than I like.

I hope this isn't too off topic but, whether it's a store clerk, maintenance staff at our apartment or any public place of business for that matter, this is why I practically go out of my way to let someones manager know when one of their employees has done a good job. That way, in addition to complaints, they will also know specifically what (for lack of a better word here) "customers" expect and need.
