Hi,

My name is Abhishek, I am from India. My father is currently undergoing dialysis not sure for how long. He had a long standing Hypertension history and he had to be admitted to ICU last month, due to Pulmonary Edema fluid in his lungs. His Creatinine level was 12.6 at the time of admittance. He recovered very quickly after dialysis and within a week was discharged. Now its been 2 weeks and counting that he is doing dialysis. The diagnosis was AKI, i'm here to understand more and from everyone's experience would like to know if he is going to need dialysis forever.

Its thread surfing time!!!

Once again Hello to everyone.

Thank You

Hello and welcome to IHD.  Does your father go to a clinic to have dialysis?

Glad you are with us!

Welcome to IHD Abhishek!
If your father's kidney problem is acute his kidneys may recover enough to allow him to discontinue dialysis. (The keyword here being may.)
There are members more knowledgeable around. One will probably be along any time now to augment my meager offering.
