Hi! Although I am not undergoing dialysis myself, the person I care about most in the world just started hemo three weeks ago. She was diagnosed stage 4 three years ago, but dialysis always seemed like something in the future. Suddenly having it be a reality, now, has led to some “catching-up” for both of us. I want to say that I appreciate these forums and everyone here, and hope to be able to contribute and share as she and I go through this journey together.

Hello Robert T, and may I extend a warm  :welcomesign; to you and your partner to IHD...

A lot of us are carers to people on dialysis, or are former carers... There's a lot of experience on this site, and I'm sure we'll all be glad to share...

I look forward to seeing a lot of you here.... Post often...

I am a caregiver to my wonderful husband,  He is 4p and started PD October 2013. We have several living donors waiting to be tested for a transplant. Dialysis is a bridge to get us where we need to go.
He had a transplant in November 2019.

Welcome to the site, Robert T! As you can see, this is a large site with many topics but if you can't find what you're looking for, then give a holler and somebody will answer or point you in the right direction! Don't be shy about asking questions or telling us of your experiences...we all learn from each other. Best of luck to you as you venture into the journey!  :welcomesign;

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.

Hi there Robert, it's so good to have you with us. The carers out there are absolutely vital to help us survive this crummy disease we have to live with.
