Has anyone been approached by their neph to be a test subject for Baxter's home hemo machine.

I've been asked to participate but it's still hush-hush on details, although I know what their goals are.

My neph said this is still in confidential stage, nevertheless, I am wondering if anyone has been asked to participate in a trial that is effectively a substituite for nxstage.

I tested a prototype' machine at one of Baxters Education centres a few years back (in the UK) . It was NXstage sized, used UV sterlisation. And together with my mum as main carer we basically had to set up/program and disinfect, maintain  the dummy machine, after being run through it once!

Whether  the machine was for Baxter or another company I don't know.

I know the Quanta Selfcare plus is possibly the only competition for NXstage I know of at the moment

Baxter and Quanta use a reverse osmosis system for their water purification which would make both machines not portable like NxStage.

The only other portable machine close to the marketplace now is the FMC PAK which relies on Sorbent technology.
