  I remember when the machines first came out, getting the air out of the lines was a pain, I had bruises under my fingernails from thumping and tapping so much, has that changed any?  Are the lines easier to clear?

Yes.  It's a little easier now.

I have no problem with it, quite a lot easier when clamping the red line for 3 secs when the prime is in 23.0, and tilting the dialyzer before 'snap and tap'

It depends. The machine has not changed at all.

If your environment caused air, which is to say if you have a cool environment, it will be the same. There are a number of things which cause air. Some people do not have as much problem with air as others. I do have air issues, but I am also anal about it. Air can cause untold issues with your body, I am very careful to make sure to avoid that.

I warm my saline to keep air from being absorbed. I changed the prime parameters to run the pumps much slower so as not to aerate the saline any more than I can. I then let it recirculate about15-30 min to drive as much air out as possible.

Yes. it is much easier than they were 7 years ago.  Still takes awhile but since the cartages are so much cheaper/lighter/flimsier it is much easier to get the air out.
