I think I might be stopping up the tub

I have seen this discussion but can't find it. I have been doing PD for a year with fluids draining into the tub. I do four exchanges off and on during the day so I don't put bleach down the tub after every exchange usually at the end of the day and sometimes not every day. I noticed when taking a shower the drain has been gradually getting slower and today my husband wanted to soak in the tub and he couldn't push up or down the lever like it was stuck. He thinks it is the proteins coating the pipes? Not sure what can be done but I guess will start with a plumber. Anyone have this problem - is it the proteins from our fluids or the dextrose from the solution? I even tried vinegar and that didn't do anything either as far as more drainage.

Try running hot water for a few minutes after draining. I notice the same problem, so I started to drain in the toilet. When I get up during the night I flush it and I have no problems.

How about baking soda and boiling water? I had problems with slow drains when my hair was falling out due to one of my transplant meds. I would take a big handful or two of baking soda and put it over the tub drain. Then I would pour an entire kettle of boiling water over the baking soda (very slowly!) and let that sit overnight. The next morning the drain would be just fine.
I discussed this once with a science professor friend and she said that the baking soda and boiling water work because the baking soda breaks down the keratin in hair. Keratin is a protein so I would think that it would be worth giving it a go in your drain. At least it's not a toxic drain cleaner.

We have an old house and the bathroom drains get hair caught in then. I couldn't see it but the plumber showed me how to reach down and feel on the little crossbars to pull it out.
I don't know if mold or fungus can grow due to solution, but another remedy for hair is bleach, pour about a cup in, let it sit for 5 minutes then run hot water down the drain.
Otherwise, could be roots from a tree.

I bought a plastic tool at Wal-Mart for clearing hair from the drains. It is a thin plastic strip about a half inch wide with sharp sorta hooks on the edges that look like you took a knife and started to peel a bit of the edge leaving that sharp hang-nail. It has a pointy end and a ring on the top. Poke it down into the drain and yank it back out, sort of 'fishing' for the hair down in there. Work pretty good! Cheap enough.

Buy some cheap Hair Removal Cream..... Cheaper the better, cheaper stuff appears to have higher quantities of the rough stuff in it!!....
Put a blob of it down your sink and shower plug holes.... Pour some boiling water down half an hour later... Hair, and any dead skin cells dissolved!....
I do this all the time....

I drain into the toilet. Wake up in the morning and just flush. I do notice that i have to clean that toilet more frequently than the others in the house. Maybe the detroxose that is in the solution...
