Today is exactly 1 year ago, or 260 D sessions with Nxstage !!!!!
And I'm still here!!!

And today was a gorgeous, sunny, dry day!!!!

Oh how I hate D, most people in 'white coats', and people who refuse dead family members to leave their usefull organs behind etc.

But after 2nd time D since '98, and 'sitting on the machine' I'm sure happy to be: still alive!

Congrats!

In exactly a week, it'll be my 2nd anniversary of starting NxStage.  Dialysis is rotten, but I think NxStage gives us a bit of our life back.

March 2007 - Brother diagnosed with ESRD, started dialysis 3 days later
April 2007 - Myself and sister also diagnosed with Senior-Loken Syndrome (Juvenile Nephronophthisis and Retintis Pigmentosa)

Since then, I've tried PD three times unsuccessfully, done In-Center hemo, NxStage short daily, Nocturnal NxStage, and had two transplants.  Currently doing NxStage short daily while waiting for a third transplant.

Married Sept. 2011 to my wonderful husband, James, who jumped into NxStage training only 51 days after our wedding!

Good job!!  I agree dialysis is a pain but NxStage makes it easier. We are on our second year also. Hope to see all of us in another year too.

Way to go, Cas!  :2thumbsup;

Aleta

PS: We only did NxStage for 2 and a half years. Last night Carl said that doing dialysis was not as bad for him as the Lyme disease was for me. I guess it is all about perspective.  :2thumbsup;
