I only heard about this site upon the sad death of the founder. I have been looking for an active kidney disease forum for a while and this seems like the ideal place.

I am 32, female, from South Australia. I am virtually at end stage renal failure - creatinine is up around 450, but I'm only 44-45kg in weight so that is high for me. I am getting a kidney from my dad, hopefully prior to needing dialysis.

Regards
Louise

I must say I like your Avatar Picture.

Welcome to IHD, cycobully,

We have many Aussie members and i have not met one that I didn't like, you people from down under are just the best.

I'm glad you found us, the founder had a vision for this family of sites and unfortunately his work is unfinished. To keep his vision alive will take members like yourself that aren't afraid to come forward and share their experiences in a public forum.

Don't get me wrong, although this is a public forum, we are a very tight knit community, we care about one another and consider all members part of our IHD family.

So welcome to our family, you will fit right in. Enjoy your stay and post often.

Louise, how did you get started with the dogs?   Dorothy looks like such a sweetie! Do you have more pictures of your dogs?
Please post if you do!!

It started with my bull terrier-cross, Diesel which my husband had already when we moved in together back in 1992 (Diesel was born in 1988 and lived until early 2006). I will put photos in the pet thread in the off-topic section.  :) see: http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=1036.160

I did become involved with some breed and obedience clubs there, for a while, but have never gotten into showing dogs. I really don't like all that competitiveness in the show ring.
