what is the chance for someone like me
or anyone else on dialysis
 to get shingles

i was around my caretaker ( no she doesnt live with me)
 on wed and i noticed this thing on her neck

 she said she had a small case of this yrs ago
 and it went away
 well she went to the doc today
 and that what she found out

i had the chicken pox
when i was little
but i sure dont need the shingles
at this point
my aunt and my uncle
 both had it

Talk to your doctor and be sure you have had the shingles vaccine.  My mom got it and she suffered a lot.  After her episode they still gave her the vaccine to prevent further chances of getting shingles.  If you are going to get it you will know about 7 days after exposure. If you gat any symptoms call doctor immediately because there are medications to limit the course of the virus.

  They want you to be over 50yrs old before you get the shingles shot.  Don't touch the person's rash.  I have had them and they suck.

I know if a person has never had chicken pox they can get them from a person who has Shingles.

Ask your family Dr and don't take no for an answer. I fought to get my shot and finally got it. I am the only person in my center that has gotten the shot so far.

Immunosuppressive drugs may contraindicate the shingles vaccine, so if you are on D, get the shot while you still can.

In UK our doctors are just rolling out the shingles vaccine. If you are between 72 and 75 you can have it , how crazy is that. I had shingles about 8 years ago and it was blood* awful. Apparently you get a really bad first bout and after that the episodes are not as awful. Yes you can keep getting it. I think I have had two episodes in 6 years mostly brought on by stress. The meds do seem to work but you have to be alert to the virus so you get the meds as soon as possiable.

are not oozy
then your not contagious

if they were oozing
then
there is something
to be concerned about
