Hello my name is Tamiko.  I have Polycystic Kidney Disease and I am on PD.  I have been on PD for 7 weeks. They attempted to place a fistula in my left arm but it clotted and had to be reversed.   I am on the transplant list. I am on medical leave from work - this has been trying because I am a workaholic and i love what i do. Yesterday, my beautician informed me that my hair is falling out and thinning... Brought tears to my eyes.  On top of this I look 7 months pregnant (because of PD). I am thankful to be alive but the side effects sure are a BEAST!!   I am married with a high school female freshman.  This site has been great.  I have been reading posts for 6 months and decided to post today.  Thank you to all have been candid, every topic has been sooooo helpful.

Welcome Tamiko. I am starting PD on the 27th of this month if my catheter is healed enough. Glad you joined IHD. Things will be ok. Keep your chin up.
