The "Fridayness" of today just hit me. My first labs on dialysis were great and my dietician gave me the ok to eat 1/2 cup of ice cream. I think she meant 1/2 cup a day, but I don't want to overdo it and mess up my phosphorus level, so I'm reserving it as a Friday treat after work. I get ice cream today!  :bandance;

Give some to your doggies. We always used to do that when we had dogs. When we went out for ice cream we would put them in the back of the truck and get them each a cup.

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaay for ice cream!!!! I was told I could have it twice a month, but I could have the non-dairy ice cream instead. Is it as good as ice cream, oh no, its not, but its a fair substitute!!!

I bought a bunch of those overpriced 1/2-cup sized single-serving containers and a box of ice cream sandwiches a few days ago, so I won't be as tempted to cheat as I would if I bought a full carton. Most of them are varieties of chocolate. I know chocolate is bad, but as long as my labs are good, chocolate it is. Give some to the dogs!? That would be like giving them a piece of gold. Bella can lick the container when I'm done with it. My dietician said the high fat stuff is better for me than low fat, so I'm happy. The fat doesn't contain phosphorus.

I have ice cream once or twice a month.  I live across the street from Dairy Queen, and if the blizzard of the month looks like something interesting, I like to try it out.  Plus, in the summer, Mom and i go to McD's for cones on Sundays.  My phosphorus is just a smidge below normal, so I can do it if I want to.

Other than the non-dairy ice cream which costs an arm and a leg, what types can we have? Sherbet, Sorbet? Frozen yogurt? Fudgsicles???
