Hi, I am a PD patient. I am thinking of going to two hospitals in the same state for evaluation. Can somebody tell me if it is Ok to do it or not. And one more question is if I go for more than two evaluations does medicare pay for it if it is primary insurance. I would appreciate if somebody can help me. Thank You.

Unsure on the Medicare as primary question.
As far as dual listing, you cannot list at two hospitals in the same OPO (organ procurement organization). So if the two hospitals in the same state are in two different OPOs, you would be okay, I believe. I am dual listed at University of Wisconsin (it's own OPO) and Northwestern University here in Chicago (Gift of Hope OPO). So I was fine and my insurance (through my employer) covered both evaluations.
