Today was day 5 of my NxStage training. I am happy to say that I am doing pretty well. Aside from some pressure issues, my runs have been good. I am able to set up using the cheat sheet, have changed and primed a pak and made 2 batches of dialysate. Today I pulled one of my needles and after we reposition my venous, will be able to pull that one, too. The week hasn't been all smooth sailing. I unscrewed the cap too far filling the saline t and it shot off, spraying saline around the room. The next day I wasn't holding the correct spot after pulling the venous needle and did the same thing with the arterial lol! I turned my training room into a blood bath. Thankfully my HHD nurse was very understanding! I don't want to jinx myself, but I think I can do this! I have a trip to the access center scheduled for Wednesday, so hopefully they will fix everything and my pressure issues will be resolved. Lots more to learn, but I am getting it, even with my "kidney brain".
