Hi, I started Pd dialysis in Sept. everthing was going good then in Novemeber one night I hooked up and the pain was unbearable in my left shoulder and right below my lung in front on my right side, I unhooked and called the nurse she had me come in to the er.  they admitted me and ran tests and while I was there they did the manual exchanges and it got so painful in my shoulder that they stopped it. found out I had fluid on right lung so they took that off and sent me home to take a break from dailysis for a week thinking that there was a tear and giving it time to heal up.  (I still pee).  And they also lowered my fill to only 1000.  Well eveything was going good until Jan 17th and they had to do a PET test and filled me too 2000 right away it starting hurting in my shoulder again..  Well Monday I ended up in the hosptial again they had to drain fluid again!   :'(  well I got up this morning and low and behold felt like I had fluid on my lungs again and I had a -UF for the last 3 nights and I never had - UF ever.  Well went had a chest xray today and I do have a small amount of fluid, so the dr is baffled, he is having me try 2 bags of 4.25 tonight to see in it will take any fluid off and then I will call him in the morning.  Did anyone have any problems like this and if you did what did they do?  I don't want to go on HEMO

I haven't had that kind of problem with my PD, at least not yet. Hope you find a solution, and soon.

I only have limited PD experience so unfortunately can't offer any help. I can feel your desperation though. Best of luck and hope you get the problem resolved quickly.

I have the same pain, I have been doing PD for 3 weeks and I thought I had gas, maybe I need to go to the DR and let them check me out.  We\hen I fill with 2000 liters, it is terrible.  I put 1500 today, so it is not so bad.  That pain in the shoulders hurt really bad.  I thought it was gas.  Does anyone also get gas from the solution.

My experience, and understanding, is that shoulder pain comes from having a patient line that hasn't primed.  If that isn't the problem then your kidney center nurse is a good one to ask for help.

Its not gas I make sure my machine is primed everytime.  Let me tell you that pain is horrible and in my shoulder and just below lung in the front.  I'm praying that I can continue with PD.  Last night I only had a 300 UF so hoping Im not filling up with fluid again  ??? I wiill know for sure in a week or so cause I will be short of breath
