OMAHA, Neb. — Warren Buffett's company has continued buying shares of DaVita Inc. throughout November and Berkshire Hathaway now owns nearly 13 percent of the kidney dialysis firm.
Berkshire said Monday in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it now owns 12.29 million DaVita shares.
That's up significantly from the 2.7 million shares Berkshire held at the end of last year when it first disclosed the DaVita investment.
Berkshire has been buying DaVita shares regularly this fall. Since last Wednesday, Berkshire has bought 412,050 shares at prices between $109.29 and $112.56 per share.
Denver-based DaVita runs nearly 2,000 outpatient dialysis clinics.
Berkshire's regulatory filings don't say whether Buffett himself or one of his company's two other investment managers made the DaVita investment. Berkshire officials don't typically comment on these filings.
