Hi my name is Derrick Kess. I am 44 years old have been on dialysis for twelve years. I believe in living life to it's fulliest. and making every person I meet smile. I am a published poet. Go to poetry.com, enter Derrick Kess where it asks to enter poet's name. I hope my poem can be a inspiration or just put a smile on your face. I love to ride my mountain bike. I believe exercise is important in anyone's life regardless if you have a chronic disease or your healthy. exercise can only be better for your mind and spirit. I love to meet people . I run my own Import business. I am divorced and I raise my 14 year old daughter, Ashley. Who I am very proud of. Not only does she have a 90 average in school but she is a great soccer player. Welll I hope I can put a smile on your face so LIVE LIFE BIG.

Hi, my name is Derrick Kess I am 44 years old, have been on dialysis for twelve years. Live everyday to the fulliest. I am a published poet. Go to poetry.com and where it say's to enter poet's name enter Derrick Kess. I won a award for my poem LIVE LIFE BIG and I hope it can put a smile on your face or make you feel better. I ride my mountain bike everyday, I ride around twenty miles a day. I believe exercise is big part of living with dialysis. And it doesn,t mean riding a bike, but taking a walk or visiting a neighbor. I am designing a t-shirt with the LIVE LIFE BIG logo. HAVE A GREAT DAY

Welcome to our community, Derrick! We are so glad that you joined us. I see that you have much to offer us, as we have lots to offer you. So keep posting. Let us know how your 'big' life is going! I read your poem. It was really great. I love poetry. We have another in-house poet here - Kitkatz. Check out some of her offerings. Looking forward to hearing much more from you.

I agree live life big. Life is too short and uncertain to do it any other way!! Hubby was always telling jokes and silly stories when he was in center. The nurses and the other people on dialysis still miss him a lot. We made a lot of good friends while he was in center.

It's nice to hear from another person who likes to exercise. I work out 4 times a week . My doc agrees with you and thinks that exercise is important. Welcome aboard.

I completely agree with you and I believe in a thing known as Nature Deficit Disorder. It has affected youth and adults alike all over the world. People need to understand the impoortance of sunlight, a fresh breeze and the sounds of nautre echoing from the tree tops and rivers. I am a new dialysis patient but I know I don't want to let it control my life or keep me locked inside. I am a kentucky girl and I belong in the woods with my kids Suzy-6 and AJ-10.
