Going through life tied to a chair!

« on: May 18, 2012, 11:50:00 AM »

I had a new loop graft installed March 8.  I saw the surgeon again on April 30 to have an ultrasound and got the Okay to start using it.

So I ran May 1, 3, 6 with it, then labs were drawn on the 6 also.  They told me I was a blue thumb.  So I was running as a blue thumb.  Then on May 10 the tech said I think you are a RED thumb not a blue.  So he ran me as a red and I email the surgeon and he confirmed I was a RED.  So I was running backwards the first 4 times.

I get my labs back last night the 17th.....  my potassium was 7.0 and my phosphrous was 7.9.     I think someone SHOULD have told me about my labs like 10 days ago!!!  It would have been a HUGE indication that something was wrong!  I've been called on a level 6 poatssium before .  I'm so mad!

seems like you always have to check and double check behind the people who are supposed to be delivering  your healthcare.  my mom always used to say, 'these dialysis techs are tryna kill me!"  sadly, i feel that they really could!

It was a doctor inappropriately prescribing medication that got me in this mess. I have learned not to trust any healthcare worker! I always double check them now.
