Hi Evveryone!

I am new here and I only have time for a short intro. This is my second transplant and I was on dialysis twice..once for 4 months, the last time for a year and 3 months. I hated it!! I know that it was keeping me alive and I am so grateful for that but I had a really hard time on it with really low blood pressure and 2 staph infections. In fact it was my last staph infection that made them cancel my transplant and kept me on dialysis for another year. I am a married woman with 3 children ..all of whom were tested to be my donor
with the lucky one being my 21 yr old son Richie. My husband was my first donor...but it just wasn't meant to be. I am doing great this time. It was very hard for me to accept my child as a donor but I came to realize that he really wanted to do it and he is also doing great.

Abeck21, welcome to IHD.  I'm glad you currently have a transplant.  When you get time, please tell us where you are from and how long your first transplant lasted.  Sounds like you have a lot to give a website like this.  Number one HOPE.

Thank you for taking time to join us.

My children are in the process of seeing if they can donate, I know how you feel about children donating to the parent, but I do find its getting easier to talk about now just about a year later.

I will look forward to your posts
