Ten days of vacation went by in a blur and we are very unhappy to be back in the desert after reveling in all the GREEN back home. If only there were work out there we'd move back in a flash.

Our vacation had a big highlight, too: we got to meet big777bill and his wife Patty! We met last Friday at a brunch buffet and really had a blast. We sat around talking for two hours while the waitress gave us the stinkeye for sitting there so long.

What wonderful people they are! They have been through so much in their lives and yet they are still the warmest, kindest, most down-to-earth people we've ever met. Even Andy - who is skeptical at best at meeting 'online' people - commented several times afterwards that he had a great time and he was so glad we got together. We are already looking forward to meeting up with them again the next time we're out there. Their company was the best, the conversation flowed as though we were all old friends and we were sorry to have to part with them so soon. If anyone's ever in the South Jersey area, be sure you look them up; I promise you'll come away feeling like you've made new friends with really good people.

I have a few pictures we took together, but I'll wait for Bill's OK before I post them.

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left

1983 high proteinloss in urine, chemo, stroke,coma, dialysis
1984 double nephrectomy
1985 transplant from dad
1998 lost dads kidney, start PD
2003 peritineum burst, back to hemo
2012 start Nxstage home hemo
2020 start Gambro AK96

       still on waitinglist, still ok I think

 I was, like Andy, somewhat skeptical of meeting someone from online. I'm glad that we went ahead and did it though. We had so much in common it was like we had known them for years. I'm not just talking about doing home hemo. Many of our life experiences were similar. We hadn't done anything in ages such as going out to eat or a movie. It felt good to get out and talk with good people again. I believe we made lifelong friends :cuddle;. I don't think the waitress will be looking forward to seeing all of is walk through the door of their restaurant any time soon. If DD didn't have to get to her dialysis session we probably would have been there another hour or longer.

Man, I wish we could have been there too!  It is so wonderful to hear of all these meetings.  IHD is really a fantastic place, with good and gracious folks! So glad you guys got together!

Diabetes -  age 7

Neuropathy in legs age 10

Eye impairments and blindness in one eye began in 95, major one during visit to the Indy 500 race of that year
   -glaucoma and surgery for that
     -cataract surgery twice on same eye (2000 - 2002). another one growing in good eye
     - vitrectomy in good eye post tx November 2003, totally blind for 4 months due to complications with meds and infection

Diagnosed with ESRD June 29, 1999
1st Dialysis - July 4, 1999
Last Dialysis - December 2, 2000

Kidney and Pancreas Transplant - December 3, 2000

Cataract Surgery on good eye - June 24, 2009
Knee Surgery 2010
2011/2012 in process of getting a guide dog
Guide Dog Training begins July 2, 2012 in NY
Guide Dog by end of July 2012
Next eye surgery late 2012 or 2013 if I feel like it
Home with Guide dog - July 27, 2012
Knee Surgery #2 - Oct 15, 2012
Eye Surgery - Nov 2012

Oh man, GREAT pictures, I agree.  I had a pretty good idea that Bill looked like his original Intro Pict, but how awesome to put faces to the names!
