Hello my name is Chrissy and I am 43. I am married to my hero, whom I have known since high school and have a 16 year old son who is amazing. I was diagnosed in November with Renal Cell Carcinoma. In1986 I had bilateral adrenal tumors, called Pheochromocytoma..and had both adrenal glands removed. From that the Dr's found I have Von Hipple Lindau Disease, a genetic mutation where my body does not fight cancer cells properly. A truly horrific disease and thankfully I have few symptoms. I had a partial nephrectomy in November and on April 12 I am having a radical nephrectomy and then I begin dialysis. I am leaving in a few minutes to discuss the procedure for the fistula or graft and the temporary cath. I am feeling very healthy actually, except for the fact I am tired all the time. I used to teach, but I have taken a leave from that, and now I spend my time being a home maker! I always wanted to be a stay at home wife!...I meditate, or try to, do yoga, and read. I also attend a cancer support group which is just incredible. I hope to learn from all of you, and perhaps share where I can.
Many thanks
