I just had my SECOND bad SAK. It leaks at the 1.2 micron filter. BOTH were out of the same box. Lot # 2017908 exp date 2013-11.
My guess is they sat somewhere and froze. This causes the fluid in the filter to expand and crack the plastic.
IF YOU HAVE THESE....be prepared to hang bags that nite. It's a pain to sit here all day waiting for a batch to finish and then find out it's bad.
Yes, I have called NxStage. They didn't say they had any other complaints. I JUST GOT THESE about a week ago so I'm guessing many of you won't get to them for some time.

ewe.... i remember this sort of situaton last year and we sent LOTS of sak's back with leaky lines.  Lots of people went through it so im hoping that this is more isolated...... (not that i want YOU to have to deal with it, but it's awful when it gets wide spread and with lots of send backs,,,)  We shall see..  And if i remember correctly, it was different #'s of saks as well.  Like right now yould 'think' i may be safe with different #'s as mine are 304's, but it ment nothing because it DID have to do with a freeze..  Boo, hope it doesnt continue for you and........ im guessing you cant see it ahead of time now that yu know it's there??

I expected the 2nd one to be bad.
What I'm guessing is that mine froze in transit at some point. UPS delivers mine so that would be the first place they would look. I work for a "major shipping company" and I know that most terminals are somewhat heated so they really shouldn't freeze. I'm sure NxStage will start looking at each stop these were at to find out where this happened.

That is, unless, this is a manufacturers defect  :o

I just received a shipment today and my saks 301 Lot #2017918 exp: 2013-12.  Will keep on the lookout when I come to them.  Thanks for the warning, JJ.

God Bless,
