OK, so, I know that it's normally not a big deal, but as you know, my son is on the autistic spectrum, so I am so thrilled that he has passed his test that I cannot find the words!  (That's from excitement, not aphasia!  LOL!)  The test in the UK is much harder than the one here in the States, so for him to be able to pass a driving test IN LONDON at the best of times is a great achievement, but to do it with the extra challenge of autism is so unbelievably wonderful.  He is so excited that he has spent half the day and who knows how much money is calling all of his American relations.

So far, this has been the high point of my year!  I seldom post any good news, so I thought I'd make an exception today. :clap;

 :clap; I was so excited when i saw this and wanted to be the first to congratulate him  :cheer:  :cheer:   :yahoo; That is a huge accomplishment and you have to be so proud of him.  I feel your happiness and so happy for that as well. Bless his heart, im so happy for him... 

ps... i realize im not the 'first' to congrat, but thats just cause i was switching from reading on my phone to my computer and i lost out...hehe   Big hugs and happy dances to ya both  :bandance;  :bandance; :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;

Wow...that is a great accomplishment.  Kudos to him (now you'll have to teach him to drive on the "other" side of the road when he visits you.  I see the white knuckles already.

Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

This really is an achievement, and I can testify that the UK test is MUCH harder than the  US one.

Admin for IHateDialysis 2008 - 2014, retired.
Jenna is our daughter, bad bladder damaged her kidneys.
Was on in-center hemodialysis 2003-2007.
7 yr transplant lost due to rejection.
She did PD Sept. 2013 - July 2017

Talk about spirt lifting :)  Im a mom that   :shy; kind of lives through her kids.  Not WHAT they do, but that they are happy.. If they are so happy about something, i cant help but get such a lift.

MM -- congrats to your son and to you too.  I remember that during the Vegas trip you were a bit concerned about whether he'd get his license.  Yet another demonstration that most of the things we worry about turn out okay in the end -- you just have to be patient.

I'm really touched that you remember that conversation!  I told him that all would be OK in the end and that he just had to be patient, and I guess I should have taken my own advice.  It's just that it meant SO much to him, to be able to do something that "normal" people could do, you know?  It's done so much for his self-esteem.
