Our center has two nurses, however they don't work at the same time, one will work a chunk of days and the other one will work a chunk of days as well, they don't work on the same day. My concern whenever our nurse goes on lunch, they leave the floor, so since there's only one nurse working, when they go to lunch theres no nurses on the floor for at least an hour, is this acceptable? Shouldn't there be a nurse at all times on the floor?

May 20, 2009, started dialysis with a groin cath
May 25, 2009, permacath was placed
august 24, 2009, was suppose to have access placement but instead was admited to hospital for low potassium
august 25, 2009, access placement
January 16, 2010 thrombectomy was done on access

Is the lunch room close?  Ours leaves the floor but is close or the facility administrator is close if she leaves the building.

yes, they call her over the intercom and sometimes she isn't anywhere to be found, and our FA does most work from home so not always there.

Good idea, nope the only LPN we had was a tech who left the facility, but she technically wasnt an LPN yet she was still in school.
