Hi there my name is Forever hopeful, I found out I had Kidney failure when I went to the hospital with what I thought was pneumonia. Was I shocked when they told me I had kidney failure! That was in 2002 and have had one transplant since then which only lasted a year as I got the polyoma virus and it attacked my transplant. Have tried peritoneal never worked for me and have had two perm caths and three fistulas and am now using a one of those fistulas. I also had a graft which has so many stents in it the poor nurses are almost not strong enough to break through it! My first transplant was from my brother and now I have another brother being worked up and we are going to go into the paird exchange program in January, I am extremely sensitve case as my antibodies are so high, therefore the name "forever hopeful" :thx;

Hi, Forever!

Welcome to IHD!

I hope you can get a transplant through the paired exchange program, too.  :pray;

In the mean time, post away! There is much to learn and lots of support to share here.

Hello Forever Hopeful and welcome to IHD!  You've come to a great place in the crazy world of renal disease.  I hope your paired exchange goes smoothly and quickly.   :welcomesign;

Hi FH, you found the right place.  This is really a positive place.  I'm not, but most the rest are.  I'm for when you have a 'bad' day.  Then I'm the one to vent to.   :waiting;

Hope things turn out good with the paired transplant.  That is the new thing.  Something had to give.
