I havnt posted in a while again... I'm a lazy bastard! BUT.... I wanted to post on my day prior to my transplant surgery. I have been kinda nervous since I found out I was getting a transplant, but today I'm kinda scared. I know I shouldn't be, but I just don't like going under. Anyway, my mom got tested and she's a positive match and tomorrow we go in together. Its alot more comforting knowing that I'll be going in with someone I love. I really like this message board too, reading it helps me get ready for what I'm about to do. I was told I will be out of the hospital in 5-7 days if everything goes right. I just got a new PSP (playstation portable) and 6 games to go with it, also my mom lent me the new harry potter book. I should have enough to keep me occupied while I'm recovering. I just hope I feel like doing those things. Another thing, this transplant has come tooooo fast on me. I have so many BIG things I had to do before I become bedridden. I had to stain my deck, cut my grass, put together a baby bed, plant some plants I had sitting in my garage for months, that are getting too big now. These might not sound like big things, but I usually run out of energy doing smaller things, so each of these is like a day project . I got everything done on my list, except the baby bed, and I have to do that today. I'll let you know how it goes in exquisite detail for future reference. Good luck to everyone else in there en devours for a transplant -Jaybird

Jaybird-thoughts and prayers will be with you and your Mom. Ever since I got your name for the IHD secret santa, you have always been on my mind. I am sure your wife is excited and nervous. This will be a new start for you- and your little ones will have you for a long, long time now. I will be anxiously waiting to see a post from you.

Congrats Jaybird! My thoughts will be with you. I understand the lists! As David and I sit in this hospital and wait for our surgery tomorrow all I can think about is what I didn't get done. But everyone tells me not to worry about it and just to rest, so I suggest you do the same. Good luck!
