Okay, so I have a question for all the ladies out there.  Have any of you experienced "menopause" due to D?  I am having a hell of a time right now....

I had my son 10 months ago, and four days ago I started lactating ( I have never breastfed)
I am 28 years old
I am on Implanon (a birth control implant in my arm)
My period has been irregular, some spotting between periods, but now in the past week when I am due for my period, I haven't gotten it.
I had a negative pregnancy test, given by my OBGYN.
A hormone level in my system is ABNORMAL.
I get hot flashes.
I've been super emotional (not like me at all)
I haven't been sleeping well at night, which causes me to be tired all the time.

I see my OBGYN tomorrow (today, it's 12:15am here), and I am wondering if I should bring up menopause??  Thoughts?  Or similar experiences???

I have always thought that dialysis has jump started menopause for me. My primary care doctor still thinks I am too young for that. I am 42 years old and my period comes whenever it feels like it. When it does come it's just spotting for a day or two and that’s it.
I don’t get hot flashes…from what I can tell. I don’t think I am too moody although people do tend to annoy the he!! out of me most times. I have no interest in sex what so ever. But then again I am also anemic.
My mom said that she stated “the change” when she was about 45 years old.  Who knows!  :waiting;

I am 54 and I had blood work done to see where I was with that whole menopause thing....  and I am still putting out..... I have my ovaries but no uterius......  got rid of that back in 92......  my hormone levels show that I am still doing my thing.....  I was on Dialysis for two years..... my blood test was just done  a few months ago...... now I wonder with all of these transplant meds..... I wonder if that will change things......

I am 42 and my period stopped 2 years ago when I started dialysis. Luckily only about 3 hot flashes in the 2 years. Pretty much no sex drive left. Sorry i know TMI. I have not had my hormones tested. I assume I'm in menopause. To be honest it doesn't upset me that much. But you're a lot younger.

I went through menopause about five years ago, before any of this started. I would definitely talk to your OB/GYN about your birth control. it sounds like a likely suspect. Good luck!

I went into premature menopause because of kidney failure.  I always had a high prolactin level and renal failure made it worse about a year before I started D.

There's no such thing as too young.  My dad's aunt went through it in her late 20s.  My mom wants my doctor to do whatever the test is to check.  For years I've had short (2-4 days), light periods, but in July I had 2 of those, just one in August, then September I had a heavy one that lasted 2 weeks.  I'm currently on one that looks as heavy as last month.  I"m hoping it doesn't last as long

I've said it a thousand times.  I'd trade my period to be able to pee again in a heartbeat

Thanks all. My OBGYN said my prolactin is way off. He wants to test my estrogen levels in a month.  I guess it's just a waiting game again. I feel like there's always something new, and never good :(

It does seem sometimes like D is nothing but a waiting game. Hope you get some good news. Let us know.

I should get a gyno. My primary care doc is the one who does my Paps each year plus general health care stuff. She is not an OB/GYN doc.

I am all over the place with my cycle.  I started D in January of this year.  I didn't have a period for three months.  Then it was my normal three day light period every 25 days for a few months.  This month, it was a week late and it is really heavy.  I had to break down and buy Super tampons for the first time in my life.

I have no clue how to judge if this is the beginning of perimenopause as both my mom and grandmother had hysterectomies in their 40's.
