bp cuff on failed access arm

Does anyone know the proper procedure on putting a bp cuff on a failed access arm? I have a graft in my left arm that's failed and that's where my bp cuff is. It's an upper arm graft and that's where nurses have been taking my bp from and also the hospital, my v surgeon that put in that failed access said that it doesn't matter if the bp cuff is put on the graft or not, however I had a nurse a week ago when I was in the hospital put the bp cuff on my rist, I asked her and she said that you should put it on the rist if your access is in the upper arm. My question is which way is correct? About 99 percent of the time my bp is taken over the failed graft and I do the same at home.

if it failed, I don't see how it would make a difference.  I had a fistula in my left wrist when I was a kid.  That fistula was never used, and removed a year after my first transplant.  I always had bps done in that arm, right up until I had the upper arm fistula put in almost 2 years ago.

Don't know that one.  I know about not doing it on the arm a fistula is on, but not sure about the graph (failed or not).  Someone will surely know.
