There have been conflicting studies published in medical journals concerning the effect of taking l-arginine in protecting renal grafts from the damage caused by immunosuppressive drugs.  Does anyone have any information about whether l-arginine is on balance worth trying?  Has anyone ever been advised by their transplant follow-up team to take it?

Here is an article that is positively talking about the use of L-arginine for renal allografts: http://jasn.asnjournals.org/content/12/2/361.full
