OPTN/UNOS Bylaws Rewrite Available for Public Comment
December 2, 2011
________________________________________
A new proposal for the OPTN Bylaws Plain Language Rewrite is being offered for public comment. This proposal was developed by the OPTN/UNOS Membership and Professional Standards Committee (MPSC). When the public comment period ends on January 31, 2012, the MPSC will review the feedback they receive and consider modifications to the original proposal. The OPTN/UNOS Board of Directors may then review and vote on this proposal at its meeting June 25-26, 2012.

The mechanism being used for review and feedback is a dedicated page on the OPTN public website (http://optn.transplant.hrsa.gov/plainlanguage.asp). The webpage provides members and the public a chance to review and comment on proposed changes to the bylaws using a series of brief web-based questionnaires in an online survey instrument.

If you have questions about how to access the online document or are uncertain how to submit your feedback, call us at (804) 782-4813. You may also send general feedback to bylawsrewrite@unos.org

Please submit all comments no later than January 31, 2012. For general questions please contact your Regional Administrator at (804) 782-4800.
We welcome your feedback on this bylaws rewrite and other aspects of the public comment process as we continue to improve the way that we communicate with the community.

Thank you in advance for your careful review and feedback on these important OPTN issues.
