Eateries cooking up $1,500 for dialysis machine By TODD SAELHOF The Calgary Sun
Restaurateurs will serve up $1,500 for the return of a city man's dialysis machine stolen from a homeless family's truck.
Owners of the Blackfoot Diner, Nellie's eatery chain and Chianti's Cafe & Restaurant locations have chipped in to offer the reward after learning Stan Redwood's cycler was taken in a robbery along with other valuables.
Nellie's owner Roxanne Taylor-King said it's the least she and fellow-entrepreneurs can do to help a man suffering from kidney failure.
Redwood and his family were checking out of the Econo Lodge on Banff Tr. Monday when everything was stolen from their truck, including a suitcase containing the cycler, a machine used by Redwood for eight hours of dialysis through the night.
