Hello everyone,

I'm so glad to become a member of this forum! This is just my "intro" post to get things going.
I've actually joined this forum on behalf of my father-in-law, who was recently diagnosed with end stage renal failure and is undergoing dialysis 3x a week. He is living in India and there are many problems with the medical system there, and so my family and I are exploring alternative options for his treatment.

I welcome any feedback or questions.

Thanks!

First of all, welcome!  I hope we can help you, but with your FIL so far away, I don't know how much information we can give, but we'll try!!

Which are the biggest problems he is encountering with India's medical system?

When you say "alternative options", do you mean something other than dialysis, or are you asking about the different ways of receiving dialysis (ie peritoneal dialysis, home hemodialysis)?

Hi Bianca, and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us and you are the best daughter-in-law for doing this.  We do have some members from India.  I've heard transplants are easy or easier to get in India?  Is that the route you are thinking?
